It’s been a slow week in media again, though we’re almost out of the wasteland that is Jan-March. I’m going to be out of the country for the next week, so don’t expect too much chatter on here, not that we’ve been bursting with blog-worthy stuff anyways. At any rate, I’ve got some exciting news this week, so read on!1. Christian Siriano won Project Runway Season 4 on Wednesday night. I think it’s interesting that on both PR and Top Chef, the most recent winners have been super young, fierce, hotshot, cocky competitors. Always bet on those hotshots! Tune in next Wednesday night for the premiere of Top Chef: Chicago. No down time between tv’s best two reality shows! I love it! 2. Friday Night Lights has been picked up by NBC for a third season! Yes! Whether it was the mini-footballs sent in to NBC by fans or DirectTV’s involvement in picking up some of the tab, the Dillon Panthers will be back in action next fall. Count it.3. Big TV week next week: Premieres of South Park, Top Chef and the HBO John Adams miniseries. Won’t be in the States for the first two, but you can bet I’ll be blogging about the first ep of 2nd President. I read the McCullough biography a few months back and loved it. Let’s just hope Paul Giamatti can carry this thing better than every other project he’s ever done that isn’t Sideways, a.k.a. the film that duped Hollywood into thinking that Paul Giamatti is a leading man.4. Last night’s episode of Lost was on par with the last couple– they’re interesting, I guess, but they all feel too disconnected to me. The show has no flow right now–there is nothing driving it, no urgency. We’re sort of just meandering around, learning little disconnected bits of information here and there. It’s entertaining tv, but its not satisfying that Lost fiend in me. I need more.5. Jerry Seinfeld is supposedly in talks to start up a new series at NBC, which he is describing as “Curb Your Enthusiasm with Jerry instead of Larry.” Um, hello! Was NBC not paying attention when no one saw Bee Movie? Were they not paying attention to the atrociously unfunny appearances by Seinfeld on 30 Rock, late night talk shows, and his own horrific Bee Movie spots. The dude is NOT funny– figure it out, NBC.

Lost- I agree this weeks episode wasn’t as satisfying as it could be but i think for thats more because the previous one felt so amazing. Im glad I was right about Pennys dads role becoming much more important. I also think ben is even more of a pscho than before and i liked the fact they tried to make us think Juliette had got off the island – that first flash thought it was the future, how is she dealing with celebrity and she was in therapy i enjoyed that. But it was an interesting episode and I did want to find more about juliette I really like her as a character, im convinced we know who this mole (on the boat) is and I think it is gona turn out to be Michael. Was ben telling the truth about penny’s dad or is this another ben deception and what did then therapist mean when she said Ben is exactly where he wants to be hmmmmmm. I like the whispers in the jungle being back as well it has been a while.
A sitcom like curb your enthusiasm with Jerry instead of Larry? Isn’t that…um… Seinfeld?
